The ICON Owner’s Pilots Association (IOPA) was recently created as an online forum for owners to discuss anything and everything regarding ICON A5 ownership. That includes meeting up at iconic destinations fit for seaplane adventures.
This February, the group held their first owners fly-in event in Central Florida. ICON Owners from all over the state of Florida, New York, Tennessee, Michigan, and even California, met on a Saturday afternoon at the Tavares Seaplane Base (FA1) to gather and talk everything ICON. Five A5s splashed down on Lake Dora, using the seaplane ramp to park at the base, while another group came in from the neighboring airport, Leesburg International (KLEE).
All told, ten owners were in attendance at the seminar held at the Key West Resort. Members of the ICON sales, marketing, and flight operations team held safety presentations as well as company updates, along with Exec Aero Maintenance, one of ICON’s Authorized Service Provider for Central Florida, and Wings Insurance.
Great conversations were followed by a dinner at the seaplane-themed restaurant, Puddle Jumpers, right next to the base.
On Sunday morning, the owner group loaded up their A5s for a 18 NM flight to Lake Weir. Eaton’s Beach Sandbar and Grill was the perfect place to beach and enjoy a brunch with new friends.
After a successful first fly-in, IOPA is looking to plan more owner meetups in the future. For ICON A5 Owners interested in learning more, please register and join the IOPA by signing up here if you have yet to do so.
